News from Families First Workforce Shadowing
This month we’re focusing on Families First Workforce Shadowing! We’re excited to have our first practitioners taking up the offer of shadowing very soon. Find out how to get involved below, and keep your eyes out for our ‘day in the life of’ stories, which we will start publishing as we continue to roll out the programme.
We have recently changed the process for the Workforce Shadowing, so instead of having to contact organisations directly – we will do this for you. Our Workforce Shadowing Flowchart explains what you need to do if you are interested in becoming a shadow.
The Workforce Shadowing programme is an exciting opportunity to ‘spend a day in someone else’s shoes’ and is open to all Families First practitioners.
There is no better way to understand more about how other people work in different services than seeing it for yourself. That’s why you can request to shadow anyone whose job is connected with improving support for children, young people and families in Hertfordshire.
Examples of roles you can shadow:
Family Intervention Workers
Parent Support Workers
A full list of roles and organisations you can shadow can be found on the Workforce Shadowing pages of the Families First Portal (Please note that this list will be updated regularly as more organisations sign up).
If you would like to find out more about becoming a shadow or if you would like to offer your services as a ‘host’ for someone to shadow, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Families First Portal.
